We love where we live! Summer term

It's the summer term and we are learning all about 'where we live'!

We will be learning about the Human and Geographical features of our local area, taking learning outside using map skills to help us compare our town to that of Whitby in North Yorkshire. In History we will be focusing on the importance of our Railway. Taking a walk through time we will investigate how the transport revolution impacted Britain and our local area, taking a ride on The Leighton Buzzard Light Railway!

We are very lucky to have lots of interesting history within the local area, for example: the world famous novel 'The Borrowers' by Mary Norton was inspired by The Cedars, which in more recent years is known as Leighton Middle School. The Borrowers will be our key text for English which will be used to produce a variety of writing genres.
