Week Beginning 18.5.2020

Maths
English

There is so much in this week's English plans. You have all being doing so well, and I think you know what is too much. Here are some guidelines:

Monday - Do the first task and write it straight into exercise books. Do other task if you wish.

Tuesday - Do the describing task in exercise books. Don't do the story plan but do any other task if you wish.

Wednesday - Do the comprehension task. Keep the 'how to make a mini book' instructions. Might come in handy later.

Thursday - Today is writing about what the characters in the story do. The instruction says, 'write several sentences'. You know if your child can do one good sentence or several. The objective is for them to join two ideas together by using 'and'. Practise saying the sentence a few times before writing it down. Focus on capital letters, full stops, writing on the line, and using 'and'.

Friday - Reading, spelling and using question words. Do this in exercise books. You can use the story to think of questions or just practise asking questions.

Handwriting - we will be starting to learn joins next half term. This week we are practising letters that we don't join onto the next letter.

Geography - Identify the continents of the world.

Watch the powerpoint and fill in the spaces on the worksheet. In school we use Australia (not Australasia or Oceana) but the labelling activity has Australasia on it. Can you change this please. There is a map of the world to look at too.

There's a YouTube song too, of course! One for today, one for Thursday.
