Phonics
Practise the words on the first two slides of the PowerPoint. I would usually have these on a flash card that the children would recognise as Story Green words and Red words and the second slide is the Speedy Green words.

Get your child to read the story on the last three slides. Instructions are on top of the page to help.
Complete a sentence. This needs to be completely independent. The missing words are all words that they have read in the story.
Literacy
This week our story is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Share the story with your child, if your don't have a copy I have put a link below to listen to the story or read together. Next you need to read the letter from the caterpillar and then complete the activity. You can write a list or draw and label your pictures.
Maths
Day 1 The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Read through the attached PowerPoint. There is a variety of activities that can be completed in relation to the story. You don’t have to complete them all. Chose the ones you think are easier to complete at home.

Art looking at Kandinsky paintings refer to the maths PowerPoint. Kandinsky used circles to inspire him to paint. Get a large piece of paper and fold into 8 parts and try to create your own versions of Kandinsky’s concentric circles. You can do this on any colour of paper.
Reading
Dogs Eat Frogs - You should be able to read lots of these words (this can be read throughout the week). Should develop confidence and fluency.
