Phonics

Practise the words on the first two slides of the PowerPoint. I would usually have these on a flash card that the children would recognise as Story Green words and Red words and the second slide is the Speedy Green words.

Get your child to read the story on the last three slides. Instructions are on top of the page to help.

Complete a sentence. This needs to be completely independent. The missing words are all words that they have read in the story.

Literacy

This week our story is Norman the slug with the silly shell.

Read the story again with the help of an adult. Can you sequence the story and colour the pictures?

Maths

You need: counters: i.e. small bricks, dried pasta pieces or anything else you can count! Place these in the middle. Also, two small items to use as move round the track, e.g. two plastic animals; and one coin to flip.

Understanding Technology

Can you make your own animated story using video about a slug or snail or draw a picture on the computer of a snail or a slug?

Reading

Spring for Birds - You should be able to read lots of these words (this can be read throughout the week). Should develop confidence and fluency.
