Phonics
I have uploaded a booklet for our set 2 stretchy sounds. This week we are concentrating only on the ay sound. Today you need to watch the PowerPoint that I put on and practise all the sounds. In the booklet work through page 5.
Literacy
Now it is time to use your imagination. You are going to write a short story about a worm. It needs to have a name and something that it likes, maybe to eat or do. Draw a picture of your worm, it can look however you wish it to look. Now write me a short story about your worm. It does begin with ‘Once upon a time…’ You could tell it to an adult and they could write it down for you to copy. It can be as funny, serious or imaginative as you wish. It is only a short one.
Maths
I have put an instruction sheet on with what to do for your maths activity today. The first page is a warm up activity. Week 4:3. You need uncooked rice or dry pasta pieces, or sand… Also a piece of good quality paper, approximately A4 size and some sticky tape.

Continued work on your Wormery
Create a wormery, worm hotel or worm farm and make careful observations over a period of time. Below are a number of ideas for how to make any of the above mentioned. This can be a mini project to take you through the next two days and over the weekend. Talk about how we feel about, treat and care for animals.
Reading
Wakey Wakey - You should be able to read lots of these words (this can be read throughout the week). Should develop confidence and fluency.
